Going crazy for peplum dresses!

Today I finally got to order some new clothes from www.asos.com.

It's good that I didn't place the order earlier as now the sales products are crazy cheap! I love the fact about Asos that they have so many different brands. The prices range from cheap to expensive so that everyone can find something for themselves. This is not advertising, just my personal opinion :)

I've been craving a peplum dress and tops for a few weeks now. I have a few already but the ones in Asos are just so damn cute! The good thing about peplum cut clothes is that they are really figure flattering if you choose the right model for your body type. They make your waist look very small but still cover up that unwanted tummy bump. E.g. if you have a bigger upper body you might want to choose a V-neck cut or a cut that gives you a little bit of cleavage. I bought this one:

 I also ended up buying the trousers. I've been looking at them online for so long. Besides, they look pretty cute with a black top. I know I'm a bit late when it comes to wearing floral print, but I don't care. I heard that there are still going to be some hot days here in Finland so... I still don't know if they will look good or just plain ridicuolous on me, so I might cut them into shorts and glue some studs on them.

The mint dress I already ordered, but it might be that in a few weeks I might buy the white one as well. It would look great with my hot pink clutch.

This red Marilyn Monroe-type dress would be a dream come true and perfect for e.g. Christmas parties! I know it's pretty early to think about Christmas, but hey, you always have to have a good reason for buying a cute dress that you really can't afford at the moment  ;)

Outfit of the day

 I just love love LOVE this vintage 50's style dress! I got it from my mom's friend a few years back. It's originally from the 60's( if I remember correctly) and has a black palm tree pattern. The shape of the dress used to be pretty ugly so I decided to sew it into a sweetheart neckline. I also took a few centimeters off the hem. 

The belt is vintage YSL. I found it from a Luxembourgish second hand store. It's amazing what you can find from second hand stores and flea markets!

Yesterday's outfit,new hair and more

This was my outfit yesterday when we went to the city to have "the last dinner" and drinks with our exchange student friends. I put a coat on, but it was a bit too warm for it. It's Nice that the final days in Toronto have been super warm! I finally got to cut my hair and colour it as well, it was in such horrible greenish and super dry condition after all the swimming. The colour is pretty close to my own hair colour so it will be easy to just let it grow.

Shopping, eating and enjoying the sun in Miami Beach

I've been in Miami Beach now for a few days, but I've really enjoyed it! Sunny and really warm, clear turquoise water, cheap food and drinks... Every building and shop has air conditioning, so what's not to love? Our hotel is actually on the "more quiet" side of Miami Beach, so the restaurants and bars are a bit cheaper here. On the first evening we had delicious Cuban food, first time for me. It was absolutely delicious! I took grilled fish and it was served with very basic Cuban side dishes, Fried sweet bananas and rice with black beans. We've also French food and desserts. Yesterday we went shopping downtown. Macy's was my absolute favourite, too bad there was so much to see that I didn't actually buy anything, the amount of wonderful clothes,shoes and bags was just so overwhelming! We're going back there for sure. Here's some photos I've taken, including some stuff I did buy :) 

When I went to Mango, I found these really cute crochet bikinis. Too bad the model was not for my body, but I decided that I will actually crochet similar bikinis when I get back to Finland.

Purple eyeshadow and a new trench

It's a beautiful spring day in Toronto, and I finally got my trench in the mail today! Wuhuu! It's by Laundry by Shelli segal, and it just what I wanted it to be.

As I was wearing a very bright scarf today, I felt that my make up has to "match". So I did a purple-bronze look:

Revlon Photoready primer is a good primer for combination skin, it's not too greasy and feels very soft and nice. Clinique anti-blemish foundation is one of my favourite foundations as it has a high coverage and it doesn't give me any break-outs!

Since I first tried Sleek make up eye shadows, I've been hooked! They have a lot of pigmentation, so you don't have to apply tons of it. The palettes are also very cheap, even if the quality is good, only about 8-9 euros if i remember correctly.

If you love "thick" looking lashes, you will like the L'Oreal's voluminous carbon black mascara. Maybelline's master precise is ideal for doing narrow lines. It's not my favourite, because I prefer thicker appliers,but it's ok.

The Body Shop bronzer is not the cheapest one, I think I paid about $19 but I like Bodu Shop products and the fact that it has a lot of colour, so you don't need to apply that much. The Joe blusher is very light, but gives a nice glow.

My eyebrows are very light and narrow, so a good eyebrow pencil is a must!

Finding the perfect coat

It's spring time and I really have a craving for a new trench coat.Yesterday I was outlet shopping with K. I wasn't really looking for anything else than perfume, but ended up trying on coats. I have to admit, I'm quite a coat "fanatic" and back home in Finland I do have a few coats and jackets. At the moment my wardrobe is missing a longer trench coat. I was trying to look for those neutral color trenches, but they just don't look good on me! I have some beige/sand color clothes, but I've never been one of those girls who look good in beige :D The coat I tried on was Calvin Klein's double button trench coat. The colour really matched with my skintone, but somehow the buttons' colour was not for me. However, the price of the coat was ridiculous, only $80.

Even if the colour was perfect, I didn't buy it. There was something missing, or maybe the size was too big, I don't really know. I think if it was the "perfect" coat for me, I would love everything about it. The absolute perfect coat would be a classic Burberry trench coat.

The Burberry trench coats seem to have a perfect feminine body-hugging cut, and they just look gorgeous. The only problem for me is the cost. I could never pay over a 1000 € for a coat, even if I wanted to :) When I was looking for other kinds of trenches online, I found this:

Renee is wearing Tommy Hilfiger, and this is just perfect for me! The color is nice and the cut is really girly, but still classic. Now I just need to find where I can buy it from :) If I for some reason can't find it, I'll just have to continue looking for my "coat match made in heaven."
